According to Brett it is my fault that Arizona basketball lost to Washington because I played with the huskies at the dog park this morning. I am glad to see some of my neuroticism has rubbed off on him, and disappointed I didn’t think of this myself before pet the stupid huskies. I would like to retract my statement that I thought they were beautiful and that I wanted one.
Aside from the stupid huskies, we had a great time at the dog park we discovered just up the road from us. And by discovered, I mean we met a nice dog named Zippy (who wasn’t so zippy) earlier this week whose owner told us all about it. This dog park is in Vint Hill, a really pretty horse country meets business area that kinda gave me a creepy cult vibe when we first moved here and were exploring, because there was absolutely no one around and all the buildings were eerily similar. Thanks to some quick Google and Facebook stalking, I discovered that Vint Hill was an Army base from WWII through the Cold War, hence all the unoccupied look-alike buildings, but still kind of creepy. Thankfully everyone (human and dog) that we met today was super friendly and not cult-like at all.
Wilma had a blast and ran around playing with any and every dog that would give her the time of day, and after an hour and a half we finally had to drag her away because she showed no signs of stopping. She is currently passed out in between us on the couch snoring and I think it is safe to say we will be making many trips back to this park, even if the stupid huskies are there too.

I agree with you they are stupid Huskies that were sent to divert the positive energy from the Wildcat in you to a nefarious purpose! Stupid Husky double agent dog spies……….
The stupid huskies were back at the park today, Wilma hid from them this time.
UGH!!! so painful to watch. i’m glad you think that way…i totally think that way too.
nurses are very superstitious and christian always laughs at the stuff i come up with. i wish viesa loved other dogs like wilma does. she wasn’t very well socialized as a puppy and she has serious feelings about personal space. so far i think the dog park has helped to desensitize her, but every now and then there is a dog that won’t stop trying to play and we end up having to break up a little scrap. i’m not sure what to do (she is a middle aged dog). dog trainer?
It does take Wilma a little bit to warm up, but her issue is being too submissive. She probably spent the first 5 minutes at the dog park belly-up playing dead to the other dogs until she was sure they were friendly. We are going to classes right now, but we don’t love our trainer so if you go that route make sure you meet them before you sign up. If not dog trainer, maybe try to have one-on-one play dates so that she isn’t overwhelmed and maybe more likely to socialize.
By the way, cult members are always nice and friedly at first, that is how they lure you in. Beware!
Keep the blogs comin!
